FORGIVE ME CH. 21
6 MONTHS AGO...
KIRA'S POV
Right after leaving that night after taken my guardian's body away with Chanwoo, we went into a wooded area and placed my guardian's body up in the traditional ceremonial way. His body was wrapped up in the sheets that I took from Hanbin's placed. Both Chanwoo and I watched as the body burned. A lonely tear fell down my face as I looked on. Chanwoo wrapped his arm around me trying to console me.
Why couldn't it be me? Why did they kill him?
So many questions were running through my head. I still couldn't fathom over what that man said about my father. A part of me needed to find out what he was up to.
AUTHOR' POV
Kira pulled away from Chanwoo as she stepped closer to the blazing fire. As she did, the stones shined brighter as she got closer. Kira narrowed her eyes down being hypnotized by the bracelet. Kira let out a frustrated cry due to wanted answers to the questions that have been running in her head for quite some time. Kira was done being someone's pawn that meant that she was done killing her father.
For once, in her life, Kira was willing to fight back. She needed to know what her father was up to and put a stop to it as soon as possible.
Chanwoo stared at Kira, he could sense something was brewing inside of her. "Whatever you're thinking of doing I'm all in."
Kira turned around folding her arms across her chest as the fire roared in the background, "Chanwoo, how much do you know about all of the clans that are still around or were around?"
He stopped to think for a moment before answering Kira's question. He raised a finger up to his chin tapping on it as he thought. "Okay let's see there is the Dragon Clan in which you're a part of, the Wolf clan of which I am a part of and the Snakes.."
Chanwoo's eyes started to turn a deep green and snarled as he said the name of the Snakes Clan. Hearing the name as well, Kira clinched her fists and caused her blood to boil.
The Snake Clan are only loyal as long as they get something in return. My father must have paid them a lot of money for protection and they would do anything to even take out their own clan if the price is right.
Chanwoo shook his head trying to get the image of the Snake Clan out of his head when he slapped his hands together as a thought flashed in his head, "There once was a clan that was around about 20 years ago but nothing was heard from them again. They are supposed to be the most powerful of us all. Their blood allows you to live forever and which makes you unstoppable. What I can remember about them is that all of them were killed by your great-grandfather but somehow a group of them were able to escape. Years went on and each one was hunted down and killed. I believe your father found out what they could do and tried to capture one." He stepped up close to Kira and lowered his head down. "The head of the clan had a child and they hid the child until someone from the Snake clan found them. The sacrifice themselves before the Snake Clan could get to them. But when they went looking for the baby it was it missing."
Kira thought about what Chanwoo said, "what do you mean the child disappeared or went missing?"
Chanwoo's eyes went big before he rubbed the back of his neck. "That's what been rumored around, the child couldn't be found."
He continued on, "Do you think your father is looking for this child by hunting down all those who opposed him?"
Kira rubbed the top of her head, all of this new information was making her dizzy, "There's a possibility if they don't give him what he wants then what is the point of them living? Mhm, Damn..I wish I had the list so I could track one of them down."
Chanwoo reached into his pocket smirking happily and pulled out a piece of paper.
"I never expected that this would come in handy." Chanwoo walks over to Kira and with the paper in hand. Kira reaches out for it and scans it quickly. She jumps up and smiles over at Chanwoo when she realizes what the paper was.
"Are you serious? Why would you have a list of people I need to kill or have killed?" Chanwoo laughs out loud to her question.
"My brother always send me a backup just in case." Kira skims through all of the names that were on the list.
Every name was listed into different regions of the world. Simon was always the type to keep everything in order to make it better to the job done swiftly. There was still a few names on the list from the area that Kira and Chanwoo were still in. The name KIM kept appearing on the list.
Kira reached up her left hand and equally tore the paper in half and giving one part of the list to Chanwoo and taking the other. "You take this region and I'll take this region. We can narrow down the search that way and hopefully find out what my father is up to, okay?"
Chanwoo took the paper and stuffed it into his pocket. He walked over to his friend and give her a warm hug before turning away and heading out.
"Be safe, nuna," Chanwoo yelled out.
From there Chanwoo disappears into woods leaving Kira alone by herself. She starts to smile as she always remembers what used to say to Simon before she left out to kill.
She turns her back and sees the remains of her deceased guardian. "You should be proud of your brother, Simon, he is just like you," she whispered.
Kira gathers her weapons that were leaning on the log that she once placed them earlier. She pulls out the list out of her sleeve to look at the names on lists. It was going to be a long journey to try to find theses people and get some sort of information out of them. The reasoning being that the majority of them were probably working with her father or maybe was afraid of him.
Kira had to figure out a way to speak with them about what her father was planning and fast.
Even if it meant her life was on the line.
