FORGIVE ME CH. 22
It has been over 6 months and Kira has been searching all over for more information about why the names on the list are so important. So far, no one could tell her anything due to either being afraid of the consequence or just knowing at all. Finally, Kira arrived at a house in the outside skirts of Seoul. She took the list out from her sleeve and looked at the last address.
Sure enough, it was the right address.
She tapped on the buzzer to signal the people inside. A moment later an old, elderly woman came walking out of the house and towards the gate. She had a small smile on her face as she went to open the gate.
"Hello, are you Mrs. Kim?" Kira asked. The woman looked at Kira for a moment. She must have been confused that Kira was speaking English to her. She had forgotten where she was. She mumbled to herself, "how am I supposed to respond to her." Kira was saying in the foreign language of her ancestors.
The woman gasped when she heard the language and started to walk back quickly into the house and closed the door behind her. Kira stared on confused and wasn't sure of what just happened. Just then an old, elderly man opened the door and walked out. He approached the gate and stared long and hard at Kira. He moved his eyes until he saw the bracelet on her wrist and dropped to his knees as he placed his hands together begging.
"Please. Don't kill us." He begged out to Kira.
Kira quickly went through the gate and grabbed the man dragging him inside the house. His wife was also inside as well and she was holding a knife in her hand ready to defend herself.
Kira pulled her sword out from behind her back and placed it in front of her. She got down on her knees in front of them. "I am not here to kill you. I just have some questions to ask you."
Both the old man and woman stared at each other before looking at Kira.
The old man stepped in front of Kira kicking away the sword that she placed in front of her. He kneels down bringing Kira to look him in the face. "You have your mother's eyes." From those words, Kira started to break down and cry. It has been a long time since she heard anyone talk about her mother and this man knew her a long time ago.
"What do you know about her?" Kira asked finally.
The man got up and walked over to the couch to sit down. He let out a deep sigh before answering her question. "Your mother was a great woman. She was different than any other person in any of the clans. She felt that all of the clans should unite, but of course, your grandfather opposed it. He wanted to only be the most powerful person and have all of the clans beneath him."
He clears his throat.
"Even though your grandfather was evil, he still loved your mother. She was his princess. His everything. The night that he and your grandmother was killed it took a toll on your mother. She wasn't thinking straight and had no choice but to give her hand to that man called your father. It wasn't long until she found out that she was pregnant. She knew that she did not want you to witness what she went through, so she ran. She and another young man escaped but didn't have much to get out of Japan. She quickly found a camp not too far away from her's. She noticed that this camp was different from any other clan that she knew. What she found out is that this group was that lost clan that she assumed was killed off by her great-grandfather."
The old woman who was still standing walked over to sit next to her husband. "The group were very friendly and help your mother and the man get away. But before she left she warn them they needed to get away. If she could find this group so easily so could your father. At first, the people shrugged it off but when someone from the Snake Clan killed a young child. Their guard was put up and they tried to flee quickly before they were captured. The king and queen of the clan have given birth to a child, a boy and they knew that they needed to protect him. I was a lower ranking soldier to that clan. I nor my wife could help fight against them, so they provided with the necessity to leave."
After saying that, the woman walked away for a moment and walked back with a picture in her hand. "All we know is that the group was killed before your father got there. He knows that the king and queen had a child and he has been looking for that child. If he finds that child then it's hell for everyone."
Kira lowered her eyes before looking up to the two people. "Does the child know about his past?"
Both the old man and woman shook their heads no. "He does not. The final request from his parents is that he never knows."
Kira got up and walked over to the window. "Well, I need to find him because he is in danger if my father gets to him." The old woman walked over to Kira and handed her a picture. Kira took the picture and stared at the picture for the longest before grabbing her sword and running out of the house.
Both of the man and the woman stared on as she quickly ran out of their house.
"I should've of known!" She yelled out.
She ran and ran until she realizes that she needed to get to her destination quickly. She looked around until she saw a man get off of his bike and walk inside a mini-convenience store. Kira smirks to herself and heads to where the bike was left. She notices that the bike had the key in the ignition and the engine was still running. She revved the bike up and placed the helmet on her head.
Just then the man came running out of the store screaming about his bike being stolen.
Kira road the bike back into Seoul and straight to her destination. She turns off the ignition and takes off the helmet as she jogs up the steps of the apartment building.
Once she arrived she banged on the door and waits for a response. When she didn't hear anything she tries banging on the door again.
Still nothing.
Kira turns her body around and starts to scans the area to see anything out of the norm.
Just then she noticed a familiar figure walking down the alley with a bag in his hand. Not only did she see the familiar person, she also notices that he was being followed by a masked assailant as well. She leaped from the second floor of the balcony of the apartment building as she took out her katana from her back.
~~~~
The person looked proudly at the items that he had in his bag. He smiled to himself as casually walked down the alley to head back to the main road.
As he walked he realized that he wasn't alone and could hear extra footsteps coming up to him. He stopped for a second to turn back around to see if there was someone behind him. When he didn't see anything he shrugs his shoulders and continued to walk. Just as he was about to turn onto the main road, he was grabbed by the neck and forced back into the alleyway.
"Oh shit!" He cried out.
From the struggle, he dropped the bag that he was carrying and the constants spilled out on the ground. The assailant pulled out his knife and placed it close to the person's neck.
"Where's he?!" He demanded.
Just then a slicing sound could be heard from both people and the assailant's eyes went big before being pulled away. The person who was captured grabbed his neck as he tried to catch his breath.
"Uh, thanks for helping me," he finally said. The man turned around to see the silhouette of a woman's figure staring down at the body that she just killed.
She was holding her katana by her side as the blood of the man laid slide down it. She turned her body around and she flashed a bright purple color before it slowly started to disappear. The man gasped when he realized who his savior was and started to back away from the woman but was backed up against the wall.
"You...you....CRAZY B*TCH!"
Kira squatted down to meet the man's eyes. "It's been awhile, Bobby."
