"Let's get her to OR!" The doctor ordered to his medical team. Jessie could hear the yelling and the screaming but only thing on her mind was her target.
She tried lifting her head up but one of the nurses pushed it back down to keep her steady while they rush her in toward the Operating Doors.
She turned over to her side seeing her boss tailing with the med team. "D-did we get him?" she asked with the oxygen mask covering her mouth. He gripped her arm squeezing it tightly.
Her boss glanced down sighing. "Jessie right now, we need to worry about you," he told her, placing a comforting touch on her shoulder.
Jessie removed the mask from her face not being happy with the answer that she received, "Just tell me did we get him or not?" She asked again, ignoring his demand.
Rolling his eyes her boss nodded his head to answer her question."Yes, Jessie, you got him but not before he got you too," he finally declared.
All of sudden, Jessie quelled over to her side and was now coughing up blood. The med staff,  her boss and the team notice the sight
"She has blood in her lungs! We can't wait any longer, let's go now!" The doctor in charge ordered to his crew.  They pushed everyone out of the room, leaving her boss and the team to hope that she is able to pull through.

Hours later, the doctor came out from the operating room, he let out a sigh of relief as he headed over to Jesse's boss. The man got up running his hands together hoping that he would be hearing goods news. "How is she, Doc?"
The doctor rubbed his left hand on the back of his neck due to having to operate for such a long period of time. "She is okay but we did have to put her in a medically induced coma to bring down the swelling from the impact but other than She should be fine. Also, the bullet that hit her lung moved up towards her heart,  so once she wakes up I want to monitor that and make sure it doesn't pierce her heart."
Jessie's  boss nodded his head hearing all the information that the doctor provided. He knew that he was going to make the toughest decision when she wakes up. "Do you think that she'd be able to go back on the field?"
The doctor sighed and crossing his arms over his chest and shook his head. "I highly doubt it. From where the bullet is located she most likely won't be able to do any intensive activities."
Again Jesse's boss shook his head. She going to hate me when she wakes up, he thought to himself.
6 months later
"That's it!" Jeff yelled while holding the punching bag. "Keep it coming, Jessie."
More grunts and hard kicks and punches hit the punching bag until Jessie did a round kick knocking Jeff back onto the padded floor. "Damn, Jess,  I didn't know you had it in you like that," he chuckled.
Jessie laughed back as she walked over to Jeff to help him up from the floor. "Well if I can't do any intensive activities out on the field this is the only place that I can it."
He shook his head and proceeded over to a machine that wasn't that far away from them. He took off his gloves as he opens a black case to take out a device from out of it.
"Body check," he stated, turning over to Jessie.
Jessie sighed in disappointed but knew it was necessary to have it done. She lifted up her arms as Jeff scanned her entire body. A red light hovered over her until it beeps to start the process.
She put her arms down and walked away over to her gym bag removing her hand guards to grab her water bottle.
"So what're my diagnoses, doc?" Jessie joked, pulling out the bottle from her mouth after taking a sip of the cold substance.
Jeff looked at her giving her side-eyed.
Finally, the system beeped and Jeff smiled giving a sigh of relief. "Everything checks out. Nothing has changed."
Jessie wiped the sweat off her forehead with her hand towel feeling happy as well. "So does that mean I can be okay to go back in the field?"
Jeff put back the machine back into the case snapping the case shut. He headed over to pick up some of the equipment that was on the floor. "Jess, I would love to give you okay to head back but only Wood can do that."
Jessie scoffed tossing her soiled towel into the dirty bin. "Like that's going to happen."
Jeff laughed out loud at her statement.
"You and I both know that I'm healthy and strong enough to go back on the field, but why doesn't he see that?"
"Maybe because you're his daughter and the only one at that," Jeff mumbled.
Jessie rolled her eyes, "that's still no excuse."
Just then her watched beeped and the both of them stared down. "Speak of the devil," Jessie muttered.
Jessie hit the green button to read the message.
'My office, now!' -W
"Well, he could have said please," Jessie said sarcastically.
Right after saying that her watch beeped again.
'Please '- W
"Well damn now he can read minds," Jessie said tossing her bag over her left shoulder to leave the gym.
"That just shows how much he cares," Jeff laughed picking up more of the equipment around the room.
Jessie pushed the metal beam on the door to allow herself to leave the gym. Plus giving Jeff the middle finger as she headed out to speak with her father.
