FORGIVE ME CH. 38

The six guys stood waiting for Kira to give them her answer. She rubbed her chin as she paced back and forth in the room that she was in. She basically had no other choice but to do what they ask of her. Deep down she knew that going back to her clan would be a suicide mission but she needed to know what they could help her with.
After a long debate, she walked back out to the main room where the six guys waited for her answer. She took a deep breath before saying anything.
"I've decided-"
"You will do it. Great now everyone got into position." The leader said interrupting Kira.
Kira folded her arms across her chest. "How did you know I was going to say yes?"
Ravi stepped in front of Kira and smiled. "We are not called the Guardians for nothing."
Kira shook her head basically agreeing to what he said
Kira shook her head basically agreeing to what he said. "Okay, now back up some. This spell takes a lot of energy to open up the portal."
Kira took a step still keeping her hands folded as she waited for them to open the portal.
The six guys stood in a circle as the leader started to mumble a chant. The other five closed their eyes waiting for their leader to finish the chant.
As Kira waited she listened to the chant that the leader said. She closed her own eyes and listening to him talk. She remembered a while back her mother chanting the same incantation when she was younger.
She moved her head from side to side, why does this sound so familiar she thought.
Just as the leader finished the chant, all eyes including Kira's flipped open. She saw all of the Guardians lift up their left-hand jolting out a lightning from their hands.
The lightning was so bright that Kira had to cover her eyes from not being blinded by it
The lightning was so bright that Kira had to cover her eyes from not being blinded by it. She lowered her hand from her face and noticed in front of her a swirling portal.
She stepped close enough to see in the distance was her home. She could make out the stone path that leads to the entrance of her clan village. She could also hear young children laughing and giggling as well. She knew that they were young since they were still enjoying their adolescents before they were made to become what she is now.
She hesitatingly stepped up to the portal but then stopped. "Is it safe to go forward?"
The leader said, "Yes, now go. We can only hold it for a short period of time."
Kira once again tried to step through the portal but froze once again. "How do I know you're not lying to me?"
Some of the Guardians groan or grunted at Kira's question.
Some of the Guardians groan or grunted at Kira's question
Leo stepped forward in front of Kira.
He twirled his wrist and showed Kira an image that would allow her to know that they weren't lying.
It was an image of her mother.  "She was here before?"
Leo nodded his head. "She was."
Kira thanked Leo for showing her this image. Before stepping into the portal Kira turned back once more. "How will I get back?"
Leo was not that far from her whispered something in Kira's ear.
Kira took a deep breath and walked forward into the portal. As she moved into the portal she could feel her insides get twisted inside out from the way she was being transported through.
Instantly, Kira was transported to her clan. She turned back around noticing that the portal was disappearing behind her. She turned back around and started to walk the path to her clan's entrance.
It has been over six months since she has been back here. Even though it was her home it did not feel like it was. She walked the path until she made it in front of the entrance. Standing in front of the entrance stood two guards. They crossed their staffs in front of the door which stopped Kira from moving any further.
When they noticed that it was Kira, they pulled back their staffs allowing Kira to proceed inside. Kira walked the cobbled path until she saw people of her clan either gathering equipment or doing defensive moves.
In the distance, she could see her father who watched on at the activities in front of him. He never smiles or shows any expression to express how he felt. He glanced up and see Kira and cease all activities.
"Welcome home, daughter," he says to Kira.
Kira stopped in front of him.
She bowed down to him before looking up to him. "Hello, father."
He went to embrace Kira but Kira stopped him from wrapping his arms her. "I'm sorry for making you worry."
He laughs out loud before placing his hands into his kimono. "Nonsense, having you home in one piece is all that I care about. Come, come let's go and eat."
Kira nods her head as she followed her father to the main building. As she goes up the step, Kira noticed the five members of the Snake clan watching her. Each one smirks or nods their heads at her before she closed the door behind her.
Kira followed her father into the dining hall of their home. He sits down and Kira does as well. That moment, a servant comes out placing trays down in front of them. The next person follows and lays out food for them to eat as well before closing the door behind them.
Her father took a sip of tea before turning his attention to his daughter. "I've heard that your guardian died in one of your mission. It's very unfortunate that happened."
Kira nodded her head acknowledging that statement.
"Yes, it was very unfortunate that happened." She also sipped some of the tea before grabbing her chopsticks to eat the food in front of her.
Her father did the same and took a bit of the food that was in front of him. "Why didn't you come home after that happened? I could have found you another guardian to help you with your missions."
Kira slowly chewed the food that was in her mouth before answering his question. of her didn't feel right but she shook it off as she swallowed the rice. "Simon and I had a good relationship, it wouldn't have felt right if I changed to someone that I wasn't too comfortable with."
Her father nodded his head as he looked on at his daughter. "Are you alright? You're looking a little pale at the moment."
Kira didn't feel right.
Her body was starting to feel like it was on fire and she wasn't sure why. She used the back of her hand to wipe away sweat that was building up on her forehead. She then waved her hand in the air towards her father. "I'm fine. Probably just tired due to the nonstop mission that I've done."
"I see," her father said. "Are you sure?"
Kira nodded her head once again.
That moment, everything in front of Kira started to look weird. The images in front of her became distorted. She turned to her father and saw that his face didn't seem right. "Kira you may want to lay down."
She went to get up but fell back down to the floor. Kira grabbed her head trying to shake whatever was going on with her body. "What's going on?"
Kira's father got up and walked over to the door sliding it back. From the blurry vision, Kira could see six tall figures walk inside the room and stand by her father. She tried to pull herself up to get a better look at them. All of the figured turned to Kira as her father whispered information to them.
That moment, two of the figures walked over to Kira and grabbed her arms. Kira starts to fight them but due to what was happening to her body, she couldn't. Her father walked in front of her and folded his hands across his chest.
"My dear Kira, tell me where the boy is." He orders.
Kira weakly laughs and mumbles some words before she was smacked across the face by her father. Kira's head moved to the side before slowly coming back around to look into the eyes of her father once more.
She split out some blood before smiling once more to her father. Once again, he smacked her across her face causing her to fall down to her knees. Her father glares at her as she tried to bring her body back up to him.
"Where's the boy, Kira?!"
"Where's the boy, Kira?!"
This time, Kira shook her head from side to side. "I will never tell you where he is. You would have to kill me first."
Her father ran his right hand through his head as he turned to walk out of the room.
"Chain her up. Let's see how long she last."
The men nodded their heads before finally knocking Kira out.
