Mystery Lover Ch. 3
3 ~ WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING FRIENDS
3 MONTHS LATER ~
As the months went by Erika and Taemin's friendship continued to grow as well. It was like they were joined at the hip and when one was around the other was right along with them. The best part was that they shared the same classes together. And when Taemin didn't have any plans after class they would walk home together.
One day as Taemin was getting out of the van to head into class with Kai right along with him. Kai swung his arm around his friend's shoulder as they headed up to the school's grounds. "So word has it, that you have a girlfriend," Kai expressed.
Taemin moved his friend's arm off of his shoulder, "I have a friend who's a girl, that doesn't make her my girlfriend, Kai."
Kai side eye his friend, "Oh really, to everyone else, it looks like the both of you are in a relationship."
Taemin scoffs off the statement as they were now heading inside the school. "Honestly, what's wrong with having a friend as a girl? If you get to know her you would actually like her, Kai." As they were walking down the hall, Erika was over by her locker pulling out some books for her next two classes when she saw Taemin and Kai heading down her directions.
"Taemin oppa!!" She yelled out, before running down the hall and grabbing his arm. Kai noticed the action and stepped away placing his arms up in the air. He gives Taemin a look like this interaction is not right before heading into his History class.
Taemin turned to Erika who was right next to him as they headed to the same class together, Biology. As they walked Taemin couldn't get what Kai had said to him out of his head and decided to ask Erika, "Erika, have you heard rumors about us floating around?"
Erika released Taemin's arm as she turned to stared back at him. He noticed her almond shaped eyes looked at him with a concerned expression. "Why, do you ask?"
"Well, Kai and I guess everyone else thinks that we are in some sort of relationship since we spend so much time together," he explained.
She shifted her weight as she held the books in her hand. "How do you feel about Taemin?"
Taemin rubbed the back of his head as he thought about her question. "I honestly, enjoy hanging out with you and don't see anything wrong with it."
Erika then placed a hand on Taemin's she smiled at him. "Then that's how I feel as well," she told him. She turned around to noticed that the halls were now clearing up due to students heading to their respective class. "Taemin, why don't we go somewhere." She turned back at him and smiled before grabbing his hands and dragging him out through the double doors that lead out to the soccer field.
"Erika! Wait, stop," Taemin yelled. But by then they were already outside and heading to the field.
"Taemin, don't be a worry wart and come on," she yelled out to him as she raced out. Taemin looked back and turned to see someone coming out from the double doors and trying to catch them. He quickly turned back around to see that Erika had disappeared and was nowhere to be found.
"Erika, where are you," he whispered. He turned back around and saw the head teacher was close to where he was. Just when he thought that he was caught, a hand grabbed him and pulled him into the bushes.
"Taemin, aish, you almost got us caught," Erika snarled. Taemin looked down to her as she smirked before pulling him farther along so they wouldn't get caught.
Ever inch that they walked Taemin was hit with a bunch of branches as he continued to spit some of them out from his mouth. "Erika where are you taking me?"
Taemin waited and waited for an answered but Erika never answers him. Finally, after about 15 minutes of walking, she finally stopped to stare out to distance. Taemin bumped into her due to the fact that she had stopped all of sudden. "What..what is this?" Taemin asked her.
"I found it when I was walking one day to school. I think it used to be an observation place with the Science club but I guess they don't use it anymore." Erika put down her books as she headed forward. The place had an exotic serene feeling to it. There was a small pond with lily pads floating at the top. Taemin heard the sounds of frogs and other creatures in the area but they were nowhere near them. It was like they would leave them alone if they left them alone.
Erika kneeled down and placed a hand in the water and swirled it around as the ripples moved away from her hand. Taemin stepped up close to her and kneeled down next to her. "You honestly am one interesting person, Erika."
From that Erika splashed some water on Taemin. He was caught off guard as she continued her attacks on him. Taemin tried to grab her hand but couldn't see where it was. Going in blind he leaped forward grabbing Erika as she fell back on the grass with Taemin on top of her.
The both were laughing and giggling until they were looking at each other in the face. They both went to lean into each other but Erika pulled away as she gathered up her books leaving Taemin left staring at the moist grass that he was laying on. She reached out her hand for him to use to lift himself up.
"Come on, let's get back to school," she said, before turning back around and heading out the same direction that they came from.
