BODYGUARD - CH 03

"You have a few hours to get to the airport," Jessie mocked what her father had stated to her. She had already left his office and was stomping down the hallway like a little kid that just got their toy taken away from them. She pushed the call button and moments later, the elevator arrived taking her down to the ground floor.
When she arrived at the ground normally she would drive but today she decided to jog to work which she wasn't that far from. But when she chooses to jog the weather was cooler now it feels like a sauna.
She took a deep breath sucking up her stupidity and walked out of the building and down the path towards her apartment.
After a ten-minute power walk through the blistering heat, Jessie arrives in front of her apartment building, happy to breathe in the cool air that flowed in the bottom level. She keyed in her entrance code and rushed up the stairs to her floor.
She finally arrived and used her keys to let herself in to pack up enough things for her lovely adventure in Seoul.
After grabbing the necessary things and making sure that she had her id and passport, Jessie rolled her suitcase out to the front and double checking that she had everything including her monitor machine.
She walked out of her place, locking it behind her and headed to the emergency exit doors. She pushed the doors open and lifted up her suitcase. She let out a sigh of relief, happy that she was on the second floor she didn't have to go down so many stairs.
Once down on the ground floor, she called a cab so that they could take her to the airport.
It took some time but after 15 minutes the cab driver arrived and she provided him with the information that she needed them to take her to the airport.
The drive to the airport normally takes 35 minutes but today it was going to be longer due to an accident. "Of course," Jessie mumbled to herself. When she needed to catch a flight in the next hour something always happens to cause a delay.
She went into her bag and pulled out the folder that her father had gave to her with all the information for her client. She scanned through all the paperwork and notice that there was a number to call in case of emergency.
For once she thought it would be a good idea to ring them and tell them that there might be a delay.
Jessie typed the number into her phone and waited until someone answers the phone. Seconds later, someone answered the line, to sounding very sluggish on the phone.
"Hello," the tired female answered.
"Yes, this is Jessie Gomes and maybe be late arriving Seoul so I just wanted to let you know."
The female gives a "hum" response before hanging up the line.
Jessie pulled the phone away from her ear and just stared at the home screen. Okay that was weird, she thought but it didn't faze her since she actually did call the woman in the middle of the night on their side of the world.
So after the cab driver pulled up to the airport front entrance and Jessie paid the fare as she got out of the vehicle and headed inside. She quickly provided her ticket and passport to the clerk, who gives her a smile to state that she still had time to make it to her plane before it took off.
She nodded her head and rushed towards her terminal making it just in time before the doors shut closed. As she arrived at the plane, the stewardess was in the process of closing the plane doors when she saw Jessie quickly rushing to get inside. She stopped what she was doing and Jessie was able to slip in and providing the woman with her ticket.
"Thank you, you may go and take your seat," the stewardess motioning her hand in a motion to allow Jessie to go ahead and walk down the aisle to get to her seat.
Once she arrived at the seat, Jessie glance to the seating sign and saw that she would be sitting by the window in which she hated the most.
"Uh..can I get to my seat," she asked the fat balding man. Feeling annoyed that he had to get up from his comfortable seat, the bald guy made grunting noises the entire time Jessie tried to squeeze by him just to get to her seat.
If she wanted to get some sleep, then she might as well forget about it. The guy next to her did everything to make the entire plane ride the worst experience. He kept picking his nose, grinding his teeth and snoring through the entire flight.
It was just too unbearable for Jessie. Even earplugs couldn't save her. She was so relieved when she finally heard the sound of the captain of the plane announce that they were 15 minutes away from landing.
Finally happy to be back on solid ground for once, Jessie quickly headed to claims to retrieve her bags and hope that someone will be waiting to pick her up.
Jessie had finally retrieved her bags and started to walk down the airport when she noticed a woman standing with her phone to her ear talking away. She even notices that she was holding a sign both in English and Hangul with Jessie name written on it.
"Hello, I'm Jessie Gomes," Jessie stated to the woman that turned to glance at who had just tapped her.
"You're Jessie Gomes?" The woman questions back, seeming shocked at who was in front of her.
"Yes, is that a problem?" Jessie question already tired and now getting extremely annoyed.
"Uh, yeah, I thought that the person that they were sending would be a man."
